Yeah, i know... i've slowed WAY down since i've been at the job i've been on since last NOV... i haven't been able to post much, but i did finish a couple other puppet designs
Here they are That is the completed Durt puppet, Dressed like "Link"
And an opposite design of the previous post.

Hello all...
First of all, i would like to apologize about the lack of anything going on here lately... i've been really busy with my family and full time job; i have had literally no time to do any puppets... but i recently refined a few ideas and put them on paper, so here ya go:First is chip, then V, and finally 3D (He knows who this is)... i've already started the build of Chip and V this morning... oh, and i edited out a lot of things i didn't want anyone to see yet... i want you to be surprised when it's done...

Hello everybody,
it's been almost a month or 2 since my last post so here's the big one(s):

ok, that is the first bit of news... and now...

2) Durt is coming along; slowly, but surely... i have to do the facial hair still... oh, and i have no need for a ninja anymore, she is not a ninja... Sorry, ninja fans

3)i have a computer based puppet i'm still working the bugs out of... the case was mentioned on the rubber room page earlier... That is where he lives. more on that as he develops.

and...
4)Haygood is in a Chili Cook-off today for the Lupus foundation... He and i are entering what is called "Turkey Chili" for short... if all goes well, it'll become
"The ScareCrow's Famous Turkey Chili"
alright now... We have to get ready for the Chili Cook-off... i'll post up later with news on the cook off....

i haven't forgotten about my precious puppets or those who still check up on me here... i've just been designing on paper the wondrous things in my head... That and christmas shopping... and a couple gift puppets i'm making... So, this is all i have for right now...

once i'm done with the puppets i'm making, i'll post some pics

Also, i've been busy with writing my scripts

hello everybody that checks this now and again...
it's been about a month since i last wrote somthing here... But i've been busy... Work mostly... the getting home later than i was before is setting me back a bit, but its work and i like it there...
Also, i've been designing things... from straitjackets for one or two of my puppets (i'll explain later, tutorial maybe?), to actual sets, a couple more puppets... and this:i took apart one of my old gateway monitors (it didn't work in the first place), gutted it for just the shell, and am in the process of putting this design on it... the screen is going to be chromakey green, for "greenscreen"... and a puppet resides in there (character and make up later) it's basically this puppet's home, per'se...
This is just a big piece for a slightly bigger puzzle

Yeah, so....
i'm working a job 70 miles from my house and it takes me forever to get home... i leave work at 3:30 and don't get home til 6:00... and it's kinda taking a toll on my puppet building right now... That and i just basically wasted almost a yard or 2 of fabric designing a robe for My Grim Reaper puppet... it ended up too small... and the hood doesn't fit right... the body is done...
trial and error i guess... or is it... all i really have to do is make a few extra peices and fit 'em all together so it looks like part of the costume...
Anyway, there isn't much else i can do at this moment... Just... Take it slow

I still have many ideas and they will be brought to life... Just slower than i thought

Here she is: Polly... The sock eating, Meowing occasionally, puppet...
She had pink eyes on the (ping pongs), but the color didn't match the nose, so i took them off and replaced them with buttons...

And after i was done, i hate this part and don't like mentioning the name, she ended up looking like ELMO... Dang... why me... i now have to add some other stuff to her... maybe not because my daughter likes her just the way she is... i still can't catch up to Billy to take a good pic of him...

Anyway, another one down... more to create... and costumes to sew... and The Grim (as i like to call him)

Meet the New Polly design... what you can't see here are her (white ping pong) pink eyes... she was playing bashful with my daughter's hat... Polly's twin brother, Billy, is around somewhere... once i can get a good picture of him, i'll post it... (he's a quick one)

next up another project i'm immersing myself in... hoping it's done before Halloween...

the Grim ReaperHe's still in production... all the pins are gone and he awaits fleece; or another material (i havent been able to check out fabrics much)... Because of all the shapes, curves, and whatnot... i wasn't going to try and produce a sewing type pattern for the specs of his old noggin... just gonna drape some fleece, cut, sew, repeat... i'll have more updates as i go along

Durt: the Ninja update

everything is going as planned with "Durt: the Ninja"
i decided to put the two characters together... with a removable ninja mask... i'm working on halloween costumes formy kids right now, so he's been delayed a bit... That and my idea for the grim reaper puppet that's going to handout candy this year at my house...

and i had a cookie too.. (literaly; my wife, kids, and i made cookies today too)...

All i needed was a push in the right direction. Thanks Project Puppet and Puppet 101 for the Ratchet Tutorial...

His story is a little more complicated... He is mysterious, and the brother of the character B.U.D. (See Here)... i wouldn't repeat the same eye color/scheme if he wasn't... i'm leaving it at that right now... Just a picture... and only... a picture...

Oh, and behind B.U.D. is Dirrty Sanch** (you get the rest...) His story is a special request from a guy i worked with... i don't work there now so i don't know how he is going to get him...

Anyway... This is the third big puppet i have done... every time i finish one, more ideas spew forth from my brain..

The Scarecrow Pt. 4

While i'm putting the finishing touches on my scarecrow puppet... Here is a recent picture
the head is fleeced black to cover the yellow of the foam i used (see hands). Since i'm covering the head with a burlap material, i chose a black fleece... andanother note; those are not the eyes i will be using... i'm thinking them as mock-ups... to see where they will be placed...
The next post will hopefully be the finished "ScareCrow"

The Scarecrow Pt. 3

just an update on the scarecrow... last weekend i did the hands, and chose the base fabric for the body... now i have to get around to fleecing and burlapping the head... possible fleecing the hands... the eyes, i think, are temporary for now... they are pinned just to see where the eyes are going...
it's getting there... i think this is going to be a good hobby for me... i'm really enjoying the creation of puppets... i like to see my kids eyes light up when they see them

The Scarecrow Pt. 2

This is as interesting a project as i thought it would... The excitement of having and working my own puppet, amazes me... it takes me back to the days when i was sat in front of Sesame Street... Wondering then, i want one; now, having built my own... Here is what i have sofar...

Just kidding.. i was playing around with putting another head growing out of his, but i have other plans for the mini-head... this is the actual progressi'm sure the next step will be the completed body... i will save the head decoration for last

But first, here is an idea of what is going on...

This is what part of my cosume at our local haunted house years ago... after awhile, i almost prided myself on this scarecrow mask and how many i scared with it... This first puppet of mine is a tribute to that character.........

igot this idea af... well, before i bought the puppet stuff from project puppet... Here is a pinned up idea of what i got... Besides drawings, i need to actually see the formation of the head...
Getting somewhere... Now i have to glue it, do the foam core, and whatnot... and post up next time i have time... i really want to take my time with this one, especially being my first...
